Journey

I said when I started this blog it would be about my journeys and struggles. I face both of those everyday. However, today was more of a journey day. My journey today involved friendship and what a blessing it is in my life.

One of the couples we go to church with just spoil our daughters just like they were their own. This couple was gone for the weekend but brought the girls Halloween baskets on Wednesday night so they wouldn't miss them. But they got back from their trip today and were at church tonight. They brought the girls beautiful bracelets that have their names on them. It just amazes me that they are kind enough to think of my girls while on their vacation. We are so blessed to have wonderful church members who love us and our girls so much.

I am also super thankful for new friendships with other PW's. Recently I have gotten to know another local PW. She has 3 beautiful children that she home schools and still is able to keep it all going and together at church and home. I so enjoy just getting to sit down and talk to her. I am so thankful that God has placed her in my life to share her knowledge as a PW with me, a mother, a wife and a friend. Again, I feel so blessed.

So that is my journey for today....each day is a new journey given to me by God. Whether good or bad it is my journey and I will share it. I pray it will help you have a better day.

Have you ever sat and wondered in midst of a crisis would someone call upon you? Would they call upon you as a prayer warrior, a friend to talk to, a counselor, an advisor, a take the kids friend, a come go with me friend or a would you bare this burden with me friend. As I sat thinking about this I wondered, would someone call upon me. Would someone think I am worthy enough to be called upon as a friend to do any of the above things I list and more. 7 realities of being a pastor's wife

I recently read a blog called "Seven Inescapable Realities of Being a Pastor's Wife"  (check out this blog, it hit the nail on the head. http://flourish.me/seven-inescapable-realities-of-being-a-pastors-wife/  )  These are all things I have already encountered in our 7 years of ministry. I mean first off what woman doesn't want to be liked? And even more so what woman doesn't want to be liked by her church peers. (Oh don't give me that every woman compares herself to other women in the church and wants to be accepted. It is in our nature!) But not everyone is going to like you. The congregation may love your husband and think he is the best thing since sliced bread but it doesn't mean they are going to like you. No matter how hard you try. Which is hard for us as a pastor's wife to accept because "we" come as a package and if they like him they have to like me......not true. But remember this is a season. Here we go again......

Wow! It's has been a long time since I have done a blog entry on here. Part if it I started back to work full time outside of the home, part of it is being the wife of a senior pastor, part of it is changes in our church, part of it is welcoming new staff members at church , part of it is having to daughters who go 100 miles an hour in different directions and honestly part of it is life in general. However, the major part of it is I haven't made time to stop and blog. To stop and share with you the things God has laid on my heart. I don't have a ton of followers or even a ton of readers but I share what I do because God lays it on my heart and I pray it will help someone who might need to hear it. In our Sunday school class we are reading the book Radical by David Platt. (Might I add David Platt was just named the new president of the IMB.)
