Ladies Night

Well its ladies night and I feel alright.....well not exactly ladies night but we got to actually sit down and have some awesome conversations! Today I was joined by 3 other ladies, 2 are PW's and 1 is a seminary wife whose husband is going for his masters then PhD and will teach so she is in the thick of it just like we are.

The guys were watching a ballgame in the den and so the ladies gathered around the kitchen table and the talk was on. We talked about everything......our kiddos, our homes, our school (for kiddos), our health problems, our struggles, our journeys and our joys. We shared so much alike and so much different but we shared. We felt each other's pain and joy for the journeys we are walking. It was so nice just to sit down and talk with other ladies of the faith, other mothers and other women who know this path I am walking.

Thank you Lord for these ladies. I pray that I am able to get closer to each of these women and share more journeys and struggles with them. What a blessing they are in my life already.

    Oh how blessed we are to find other PW's we can identify with and build close friendships with. Friends are hard to come by in our positions, building relationships with other PWs is a priceless blessing. I am so glad God has blessed me with some precious ladies to share with!

Have you ever sat and wondered in midst of a crisis would someone call upon you? Would they call upon you as a prayer warrior, a friend to talk to, a counselor, an advisor, a take the kids friend, a come go with me friend or a would you bare this burden with me friend. 7 realities of being a pastor's wife

I recently read a blog called "Seven Inescapable Realities of Being a Pastor's Wife"  (check out this blog, it hit the nail on the head. http://flourish.me/seven-inescapable-realities-of-being-a-pastors-wife/  )  These are all things I have already encountered in our 7 years of ministry. I mean first off what woman doesn't want to be liked? And even more so what woman doesn't want to be liked by her church peers. (Oh don't give me that every woman compares herself to other women in the church and wants to be accepted. It is in our nature!) But not everyone is going to like you. The congregation may love your husband and think he is the best thing since sliced bread but it doesn't mean they are going to like you. No matter how hard you try. Which is hard for us as a pastor's wife to accept because "we" come as a package and if they like him they have to like me......not true. But remember this is a season. Here we go again......

Wow! It's has been a long time since I have done a blog entry on here. Part if it I started back to work full time outside of the home, part of it is being the wife of a senior pastor, part of it is changes in our church, part of it is welcoming new staff members at church , part of it is having to daughters who go 100 miles an hour in different directions and honestly part of it is life in general. However, the major part of it is I haven't made time to stop and blog. To stop and share with you the things God has laid on my heart. I don't have a ton of followers or even a ton of readers but I share what I do because God lays it on my heart and I pray it will help someone who might need to hear it. In our Sunday school class we are reading the book Radical by David Platt. (Might I add David Platt was just named the new president of the IMB.)
